I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the customary face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
